sunnyjum:

In this video I am testing the new interface style. At present I am switching between shapes with the right-mouse button, but I think I will implement a pop up radial menu to make selections faster. I would also like to include a free-form mode which will behave in a similar manner to the interface in my previous videos. This will allow for more precise building control where required.

I haven’t redone the interface for destroying blocks yet, and am still working out the details for this. The building in the video was created using only the tools shown.

I will be re-writing some elements of the lighting and rendering modules soon which will allow for more realistic lighting, shader effects on surfaces, faster rendering and faster generation of render geometry data.

The texture pack is the excellent PureBDCraft by Sphax, used with permission. It can be downloaded for Minecraft here: http://bdcraft.net/

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS

1hourart

I want to make up an art game.  I’m making this up as I go so I hope it will be fun when I click post.  Any number of people can play (even 1)!  One person is delegated to be the “host”.  It is on this person’s tumblr that the finished arts will be posted to in the form of a reply to the host’s art.

  1. Everyone agrees on the media being used.  Paints, pastels, charcoal, colored   pencils, cut up magazines, etc.  (you can even make a poem or song or photo as long as you do it for an hour and no more!)
  2. Decide if anything has to be in the art such as certain words, shapes, or objects.
  3. AFTER step 2, the “host” goes to this website and makes a random phrase of two or three words.  Good parameters are; adjective-noun, verb-noun, noun-adverb-verb.  Stuff like that.  Stuff that English likes to conform to.  Or not!  Whatever!
  4. DO AN ART.  It must take no longer than one whole hour!  That’s the point.  Post it as a reply to the host’s art on his/her tumblr.

The fun thing about this is that you can make it whatever you want as long as it includes the rules in some way.  ”Some way” is totally open to interpretation, just like all art.  The art can be abstract, realistic, or whatever you think of.  The idea is not to make something technically good, but creative.  That means no one cares how straight your lines are or how well you stay inside them.

Here’s another idea!  If you want to play by yourself, follow all the rules above and then post your art (by taking a pic or scanning) and then tag it as 1hourart.  Then, you can see everyone else’s stuff, too!  Just make sure you detail your media and random phrase in the post.  I’m by myself here; reblog this if you want to see people’s arts!
